Discovery and Learning

We have hit the ground running after Winter Break!

In ELA: We've been working on a paired text essay project. Students read two articles and then write an essay using information from both articles. This allows them to work on finding information within texts and referring to it in their writing- a very important skill!
Intervention: Some students go to reading groups outside the classroom, and some do book groups with me. Ask your student what they are reading!

Math: We have been working on division, both the traditional long division that you and I grew up with and place value chart methods. The kids are catching on quickly!
Social Studies: We've been reading about the civil rights movement. We've had some great discussions on the topic.
Writing: We're using writing time to perfect those paired text essays.
Read Aloud: We're reading A Wolf Called Wander by Rosanne Parry.

"There are many little ways to enlarge your child's world. Love of books is best of all."
